Taco has a passion for travelling and has visited over 55 countries and he always carries a camera with him. He is especially attracted to wild places and fantastic nature. Taco started seriously with photography when he travelled for six months in an old Landrover4X4 through Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa. He bought his first DSLR in 2008 when he moved to an overseas posting in Gabon in Africa, where he lived amidst forest elephants. In 2015 he took a sabbatical from his corporate career in the energy business and travelled for ten months around the world, living in South Africa, New Zealand, Hawaii and California. Following this he had problems adjusting back to the corporate world. Whilst Taco is currently living in The Netherlands, he travels frequently to southern Africa to photograph wildlife. In 2018 he decided to take his photography to the next level and he enrolled himself at the Photo Academy (Fotoacademie) in Amsterdam to become a professional freelance photographer.
